[edit] Plot
In the summer of 2008 the G8 summit has gathered the world's leaders at Lake Toya, which resides near a volcano in Hokkaido. Meanwhile, a Chinese rocket lands in Japan, causing a giant monster named Guilala to be born from a spore. The leaders each attempt their own strategies to defeat the monster and show their respective nation's might. After a series of missile attacks results in utter failure, two journalists discover a group worshiping a strange idol by the lake and wonder if it controls any sort of power than can defeat Guilala.
