[edit] Plot

In the 16th century Lord Hidetora decides to retire and divide his kingdom among his three sons. When one of the sons objects to this, warning that the other two sons will fight for control instead of being content with what they are given, he is banished. However, he ends up being right in his prediction and an epic war ensues, eventually driving Lord Hidetora mad.
