Rasen (らせん, Rasen), aka The Spiral, aka Ring: Spiral is a 1998 Japanese horror film directed by Joji Iida. It is the original sequel to Ring. In 1999 Hideo Nakata directed an alternate sequel, Ring 2, which ignored the events of Rasen and took the storyline in a completely different direction.
