Tora-san's Heart Of Gold (男はつらいよ 寅次郎純情詩集 Otoko wa Tsurai yo: Torajirō Junjo Shishu) aka Torasan Meets his School-Mates and Torasan's Pure Love[1] is a 1976 comedy film directed by Yōji Yamada. It stars Kiyoshi Atsumi as Torajirō Kuruma (Tora-san), and Machiko Kyō as his love interest or "Madonna".[2] Tora-san's Heart Of Gold is the eighteenth film in the Otoko wa Tsurai yo series, and was Machiko Kyō's penultimate film appearance.[3]


Release historyEdit

Tora-san's Heart Of Gold was released theatrically on December 25, 1976.[5] In Japan, the film has been released on videotape in 1996, and in DVD format in 1999 and 2008.[6]
