Zatoichi 17: Zatoichi Challenged (座頭市血煙り街道 Zatōichi chikemuri kaido) is a 1967 film based on Kan Shimozawa's novels, directed by Kenji Misumi and starring Shintarō Katsu as Zatoichi the blind swordsman. Zatoichi 17: Zatoichi Challenged is the seventeenth entry in the popular, long-running Zatoichi series.

Zatoichi 17: Zatoichi Challenged was released theatrically on December 30, 1967.[3] In Japan, the film has been released on videotape in 1983, 1984, and 1992, and in DVD format in 2003.[4] Home Vision Entertainment released it on DVD in the US on August 24, 2004.[5]
